Backgammon for three players
This unique backgammon for three players is made of plywood and beech wood. Three churches of Ejmiatsin are engraved on all three sides. The churches of Saint Gayane and Saint Hripsime were constructed in the VII century. The Cathedral of Ejmiatsin is considered to be the first Christian Cathedral of the ancient Armenia as well as one of the oldest in the world.
Backgammon for three players was created in Armenia in 2007 by Nerses Nersesyan.
It is played by three players on a special three-sided board. Each player gets 15 playing pieces. There are 45 white, black, and red pieces in total. The player eliminating all his pieces first wins.
This model is hand-processed. It is varnished. The hinges and locks are made of brass.
